Press Release Summary: The coming election might bring the winds of health care changes with it, and then again it may not. When change is detected in the wind, those against it go into inertia mode and wait until the urge to change has died a natural death.
Press Release Body: It is no secret the health care system in America is totally out of control. The sad part is we are not sure what to do about it. Candidates for the president's office have lots of ideas, but evidently not enough money to make the kinds of changes desperately needed. The question then becomes whether they can honestly make any changes or not.
Take a look at the campaign platforms (found online at the candidates websites) to locate some interesting ideas, but not a lot of information on how those ideas are supposed to actually work in reality. This type of information should be used to help formulate an informed opinion about what may be good for the future of America.
The truth is no matter what changes are proposed, the health care white elephant still sits in the middle of the living room needing more money to made it move. If the deficit is taken into consideration, no amount of money in the world would be enough to even begin basic reforms.
In addition to the lack of money, it would more than one four-year term to scratch the surface of health care reform. Not even eight years would be enough either.
The health care system is like a line of dominoes. Change one thing and a whole bunch of other things have to be changed as well. This creates pure havoc. There is no point in working with portions of the puzzle, because the pieces are part of an overall picture that needs to fit together later.
America has a staggering deficit to begin with, and it defies logic to think it can make significant changes to a health care system without the financial means to accomplish that. Change likely isn't possible in this lifetime and may not be in the next.
Americans are the authors of their own misfortunes when it comes to health care and how the system does not work. Before voting, take some time to compare the party platforms on health care. Ask hard questions and then vote for what makes some sense for now.
